Quote of the Week

“The Christian gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time.... I do not think more of myself nor less of myself. Instead, I think of myself less.”

Timothy Keller, The Reason for God, p181

Oh, that it would have such an effect on me! :) I don't know that anything really makes me think less about myself. I tend to be the "self-reflective" type, for better and for worse.

Yes. I think I try to get something like that across on my posting on L.L.'s book today, in my comments.

Well said.

LL, I know what you mean. I'm like that as well and probably overly self-analytical. Over the years, I've learned to identify that tendency as a form of pride

Ted, you have to love Keller's quote. The book is full of great quotes. I'll be by to look up your post on LL's book
