Quote of the Week

Missions exists because worship doesn't. Worship is the ultimate, not missions because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.

Worship, therefore is the goal and fuel of missions.

Oh ESI, this so resonates in my heart. If we could just see who He is, how we would reflect His glory and they would drawn to the Savior.

I believe the church is a missional community in Jesus in this world. That as a community were to show as well as tell of Jesus, and thus the glory of God (in the face of Jesus Christ) to the world.

Good quote as we do so only as a worshipping community.

This is one of my favorite quotes because it gets to the heart of why we need to share the gospel or be a "missional" community (as my friend, Ted will often say).

The goal is worship of the Living, Eternal God, for whom we are made.

Ted,

Thanks for your thoughts - This quote provokes me both to living a life of worship and to the mission of making Him known - perhaps two faces of the same coin.

Don't get me wrong ESI, I don't actually think you ever have addiction without sin -

I'd have to think and contrive to find even a far-fetched example for this - maybe a physical addiction only (by neurchemical addiction standards) for someone who was on a specific category of pain meds in a hospital long-term or something of that nature.

My whole point is that it all starts in the heart.

I really like the work they do CCEF too - in fact I just bought a new Welch book!
