Quote of the Week

"Clearly there is a direct link between the profession of faith, the practice of faith and the plausibility of faith. Practice what you preach and you commend your faith; don't and you contradict it"

Os Guinness; The Call, p.103

Yes. That is the strength when practice of profession is emphasized. Both faith and practice of course have to be held as of equal importance in a true sense. Not denying that our practice and changed lives follow from faith, but to say that faith by itself is dead.

Os Guinness' "The Case for Civility" gave me a renewed, new appreciation for our country and I think it's a must read for all Americans. I ought to read more from him.

This is an excellent quote, thanks for posting it! I really love quotes and decided to post a bunch on my blog. To start off, I thought my first batch would be primarily from your blog (with a link back, of course). :)

Hope you are having a great day!

Ted - I'll need to check out "The Case for Civility"... I do like the sound of the title

Alanna - thanks for stopping ny. Please feel free to take quotes from my blog if it is a blessing to you. Very kind of you to link back but not necessary if you prefer not to.

ESI,
The title is good, but I wonder if it does that book justice. I don't think so.

...I mean there is so much more to that book.

I'd be most interested in what you think after you read it!
