Quote of the Week

"The main problem, then, in the Christian life is that we have not thought out the deep implications of the gospel, we have not 'used' the gospel in, and on all parts of our life."

Tim Keller, The Centrality of the Gospel (article)

Good quote. I so much agree. The gospel pertains to all of life, and we must press that, without losing the central importance of the necessity of each person coming to Christ for salvation.

Ted - well said.

Every area of our lives?? Umh - probably because 1) we don't realize we're supposed to, 2) when we do, it's really, really hard, 3) when we do we find that it's usually impossible without falling on our faces in abject failure and having to humble ourselves and ask for help in even the smallest of applications.

BTW - I'm not much of one for debate or argument either. Don't mind a spirited scientific discussion of ideas - but not the evolution debates that have gone on at my blog. However, Don Sands has asked a reasonable question that sounds as if he really would like to have Maalie's opinion - so I've opened it back up again so they can have that discourse. Hopefully it won't turn into a slug-fest again!! If felt quite unable to moderate it at all.

Susan - I hope the quote wasn't discouraging. Yes - it's hard to remember to apply the gospel in the various parts of our lives....but asking for help as you suggest is a good thing.
