Quote of the Week

"There is a common worldly kind of Christianity in this day, which many have and think they have enough - a cheap Christianity which offends nobody, and requires no sacrifice - which cost nothing, and is worth nothing."

J.C. Ryle, Holiness, p. 204

Cheap, light and airy... that's common for sure. But when I do a little introspection, is my faith what it should be? I might read a good biography (like John G Patton's) and all of the sudden, not feel so good about myself.

Take heart - I suspect your faith reflects the goodness of your Savior.

Biographies, while inspiring can often have that effect...the person is painted in bold strokes, sometimes their lives come across without the nitty gritty of daily living. Our lives seem so pale and uninteresting in comparison
