Quote of the Week

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."

ESI,
Amen!

Been in Psalm 42 and what a blessing! Panting after God, thirsting for God. And all that accompanies that Psalm, along with Psalm 43. Has blessed me the past two days.

Oh that I might be a person who longs after God in that way, and has my heart so set on God. I'm just glad I have any desire in that direction at all, as that's all, completely of grace. Yet we do need to take hold of this. Like C.S. Lewis said, I think, our problem is not in being too thirsty, but in being too easily satisfied with so little, so much less than God has to give.

Well, anyhow, I know my thought here is not precisely on Tozer's quote, but it's certainly related, I think.

I think I need to write this one down and ask the kids or my peers... "What kind of thoughts come to mind when you think of God?" Plus, I'll have to chew on that one myself.

Ted - I like CS Lewis' point about being too easily satisfied. Perhaps it's linked in this way - when we think of God, are we too easily satisfied with a God of our own making or do we see a God as revealed in His word.

Craver - when you figure out the answer for yourself, let us know what you think about God.
