Quote of the Week

The fact that the universe continues to function as it does, and that certain actions have certain consequences, needs to be seen in light of God's continued, intentional, active, sustaining involvement.

Sounds like a wonderful book that I would enjoy! Waiting on LL's in the mail first though while finishing another from Westminster's group.

Technical note - your comment link looks really funny on my laptop - like the margins are not wide enough - it makes it much harder to navigate about the page as compared with the previous layout.

This is so true, in spite of all the arguments against it.

All of God's working is for good, and someday that working will be completed in a climactic ending into the new story to be. Really all good, in Jesus!

From the little I know of you, I suspect that you will like it. It is a book that defends the biblical view of penal substitutionary atonement. The quote I picked didn't have a lot to do with the substance of the book but I thought it was a good quote.

With respect to the comment link, I'll look into it but I don't know what to make of it.

sounds like I would - because I'm grateful for substitutionary atonement - I manage to suffer enough "punishment" just from the consequences of my own actions - to suffer the real penalty for my sins - eternity in hell is a long, long time. Even a day out of fellowship is miserable, I cannot begin to imagine the horrors of hell.

God's sustaining work. I think about that often.

LL,

Not many people think of God's sustaining work...they just take it for granted
