Quote of the Week

"Christianity is the only major religion to have as its central event the humiliation of its God."

Funny, I was just thinking of this very idea today. Remembering that book The Life of Pi, I was musing about why he didn't like the Christian story. The humiliation, the "weakness" of Christ in death, was simply too much.

It really does stand out as a difference in the Christian story.

Not only that, but the loyal adherents of this religion will similarly put the needs of others before themselves ...when they're doing it right. (I must admit that this is something I still struggle with.)

I had to start another blog as the last one disappeared into the netherworlds. This new link should lead you there once there are real posts to read.

LL - the perceived weakness or foolishness of the cross is something many have struggled with throughout history...although somehow I don't think it's something most Americans think about

Craver - excellent point. It's distinctive not only of the Savior but those who follow Him

Halfmom - thanks! I'll also check out your new blog soon. What happened to your old one?
