Quote of the Week

"Thou movest us to delight in praising Thee;

for Thou hast formed us for Thyself,
and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee"

St Augustine - The Confessions; Book 1, Chapter 1

I just referenced part of this quote - at least the susan version - to a non-believer this week. It's nice to have the real quote with reference right here when I need it.

I know that I don't have a clue who you really are, but I have a feeling that you understand how easily and quickly things can get tangled up in the midst of the social part of a business setting. If you would please pray that I will correspond clearly with said non-believer to reinforce that what he needs is Christ, not me, and that I would do so in a God-honoring way, I would greatly appreciate it.

ESI, Thanks for this great quote. I need to go over the Confessions again, and will do so in my weak, wimpy way of hearing them read- is the plan- as I do needed things around the house.

Of course nothing really replaces getting into the text for one's self. Well, this is one quote that definitely is fit to be framed! And praise God for that truth and reality in Jesus!
